Homeless Outreach and Emergency Accommodation
If you find yourself homeless and in need of urgent assistance in Telford and Wrekin, there are a number of ways to get help.
Stay introduced the Homeless Outreach Co-ordinator as an outreach service to promptly assist people finding themselves homeless, into services offering accommodation and support and to help those at risk of becoming homeless by providing advice and exploring preventative measures.
The co-ordinator will make contact, assess each individual’s needs and assist in finding both short and long term solutions to meeting those needs.

Stay’s Homeless Outreach Service has helped hundreds of homeless and vulnerable individuals and families.
The Outreach Service has become the first point of call for vulnerable and homeless people which has resulted in the reduction of rough sleepers in Telford and has also prevented a number of individuals becoming homeless.
The service works outside of office hours and includes detached street work to actively seek out individuals who are rough sleeping. The Homeless Outreach Service has helped a wide range of people in need over many years; the youngest being only 16, and the oldest 67.
The outreach workers assess individual needs and address these by providing direct help, or referral for various types of services or joint working with other organisations.
Stay’s Outreach Workers work closely with an individual to assess their needs which considers the following:
- preventing people sleeping rough
- reducing antisocial behaviour on the streets and preventing crime
- reducing the risk of drugs & alcohol misuse
- reducing the risk of domestic abuse
- reducing the risk of re-offending
- supporting physical and mental health
- the need for emergency provisions such as food, water, clothing, tents etc
