Ways to donate that make a difference
Any donation, small or large, makes a huge difference to Stay and helps us provide the services we offer. Every penny takes us a step closer to achieving our vision, to end homelessness and empower people to rebuild their lives.
There are different ways to donate, whatever suits you:
- One-off donation
- Regular giving by joining our group of Stay friends
- Giving gifts and services

One-off donations
One-off donations make a huge impact, as every penny counts. They help vulnerable people in the local area get the support they need to rebuild their lives.
A £3 donation to Stay pays for a coffee and a snack for a person sleeping rough and provides an opportunity for human connection: the simplest of gestures, but so meaningful.Alex’s Story
(Name changed for confidentiality)
Alex was sleeping rough, and after past experiences, he had lost trust in services like ours.
The Outreach team spent the time to build up Alex’s trust. They provided practical support, sleeping equipment and helped him into emergency accommodation to get him off the street.
Their support didn’t end there; they remained in touch until he was ready for the next steps. Alex was supported through a housing application process and was offered supported accommodation with Stay. Now, Alex is in a safe and secure home and maintaining a tenancy with Stay. “Thank you for always being there for me and not giving up when I raised my barriers,” said Alex, about his experience with Stay.

Sally’s Story
(Name changed for confidentiality)
Sally was fleeing domestic abuse and had to suddenly leave her living situation with very little to her name. She was in desperate need of help and a safe place to stay. She was referred to Stay through Cranstoun, a local domestic abuse charity.
Stay was able to house Sally in one of our multiple occupancy properties. This not only helped her to feel safe and reduce her isolation but also gave her the space to access help with dealing with her traumatic experiences, heal and rebuild her confidence.
8 months after being referred, Sally successfully moved on into her own self-contained property. Sally no longer requires the services of Stay or Cranstoun; she has proudly regained her independence, rebuilt her life, and is happy and doing well.
