We are seeking a compassionate, motivated and professional individual to join our team as a Housing Practitioner. This role is primarily focused on delivering intensive housing management and trauma-informed housing support to women who have experienced domestic abuse and violence, living within a secure female-only accommodation setting.
Working closely with residents, you will empower women to rebuild their confidence, develop independent living skills, and take positive steps towards a safer and more stable future. The Housing Practitioner plays a crucial role in preventing rough sleeping and homelessness, helping individuals overcome barriers, reduce risk, and achieve long-term housing stability and personal wellbeing.

About the Role
This role is focused on intensive housing management ensuring residents are able to safely occupy, sustain and move on from accommodation while meeting the requirements of their licence or occupancy agreement.
As the Housing Practitioner key responsibilities will be:
- Manage referrals, assessments and allocations for a female domestic abuse accommodation service.
- Carry out risk assessments and support safe admissions, occupancy and move-on arrangements.
- Provide intensive housing management to help residents sustain tenancies and meet occupancy requirements.
- Support residents with rent payments, housing costs and tenancy-related issues. .
- Monitor occupancy levels, voids and day-to-day property management to maintain a safe living environment.
- Manage a caseload of women affected by domestic abuse, developing safety plans and coordinating support.
- Identify and manage risks, safeguarding concerns, incidents and anti-social behaviour in line with procedures.
- Make referrals and work closely with specialist services, including domestic abuse, mental health and substance misuse agencies.
- Build strong partnerships with local authorities, police, social care and other statutory and voluntary organisations.
- Represent residents at multi-agency meetings, including MARAC and MAPPA where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate case records, reports and data in line with GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion across all aspects of service delivery.
- Contribute to service development, team meetings, training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Uphold health and safety standards, professional boundaries and the charity’s values at all times.
About You
You could be a great fit if you:
- Have experience supporting vulnerable single females, particularly those affected by domestic abuse/violence, with a strong understanding of the impacts abuse has on adults.
- Are trained in domestic abuse awareness, specialist support delivery including; domestic abuse dynamics, DASH risk assessment, safety planning and supporting survivors.
- Are committed to trauma-informed, person-centred support, with personal safeguarding at the centre.
- Are compassionate, approachable, able to foster professional trust-based relationships with those being supported.
